A MIDI controller reimagined. The DomeDrum is based on the principle of the Hang Drum. Its curved shape allows several people to play together.
Prototyping
First, the shape of the DomeDrum was quickly planned using Cinema 4D. Next, this shape was recreated in SolidWorks and sliced into several 'slices'. The data was then prepared for CNC milling using VisualMill. The entire milling process took approximately 5 hours, including roughing, fine passes, and a finishing pass.
